Blessings EdTech

Terms of service

1. Who we are

blessingsedtech.com is run by Blessings Edtech LLC, Shams Free Zone, Sharjah Media City, United Arab Emirates (licence 2647775.01). "We" and "us" mean that company. You can reach us at info@blessingsedtech.com.

2. What we offer

Revision courses for IGCSE, GCSE, AS and A Level, each following an exam board's syllabus: chapter notes, lesson videos where a chapter has one, practice questions with explanations, progress by topic, and an AI study tutor.

The first chapter of every course is free to read, with no account. Everything else comes with a Self-Study subscription (section 5).

We are not part of, or endorsed by, Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel or any other exam board. Their names are used only to say which syllabus a course follows.

3. Accounts

Who can have one. An account belongs to the person who creates it. A parent or guardian can create one for their child and keep it while the child signs in with it. A student aged 13 or over can create their own. A child under 13 must not create an account: a parent or guardian can create and hold one for them. If we learn that a child under 13 created an account themselves, we will close it straight away and ask a parent or guardian to take it over (our privacy policy says how).

Paying needs an adult. Only an adult (18 or over) may pay for a subscription, with their own card or with the card holder's permission.

One account, one student. An account is for one student. Please do not share a login with another student: each student's progress, practice and AI tutor are their own, and a shared login mixes them up. We may suspend an account that is clearly being shared (section 13).

Keep the login safe. The account holder is responsible for what is done with the account, and for keeping its password private. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.

Accurate details. Please give a real email address that you can read: it is how we confirm the account and how you reset the password.

4. Free chapters

You can read chapter 1 of every course without an account and without paying. We may change which chapter is free for a course, but there will always be a free chapter to try.

5. The Self-Study subscription

What it includes. Every chapter of every IGCSE, GCSE, AS and A Level course on the site, including courses added later at those levels: the notes, the videos, practice on each topic, progress, and the AI tutor.

Plans. Monthly, every three months, or yearly. The price of each is on our prices page and on the subscription page before you pay, in pounds or UAE dirhams. You pay in the currency the page showed you.

Paying. Each period is paid at its start. The subscription renews by itself at the end of each period, at the price for that plan, until you cancel. Payments are handled by Stripe.

Price changes. If we change the price of your plan, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before your next renewal at the new price, so you can cancel first if you wish.

Changing plan. You can move between monthly, three-monthly and yearly. The new plan starts when the period you have already paid for ends, at the new plan's price. Nothing is charged or refunded for part of a period.

6. The free trial

A new subscription starts with a free trial of 10 days, with everything included except that the AI tutor allows fewer messages (section 8).

A card is needed to start the trial. Nothing is charged during the trial. When it ends, the first payment is taken and the subscription continues on the plan you chose, unless you cancel before then.

One free trial per family. We may refuse a second trial on the same card. If a second child in your family needs access, tell us and we will sort it out.

If the first payment fails when the trial ends, access stops at once.

7. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from your account's subscription page, in a few taps, without contacting us.

If you cancel during the free trial, nothing is charged at all.

If you cancel after paying, you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for, and nothing more is charged. We do not refund the unused part of a period, except as section 9 says.

8. The AI tutor

The AI tutor is an AI study assistant, not a person. It is made by Anthropic and answers using the course, the student's own practice answers and the mark schemes.

  • It can be wrong. Check what it says against the chapter notes and the mark scheme, and ask a teacher if something does not add up.
  • It is for studying. Questions about your subjects are what it is for. If a student sends 5 messages in a row that have nothing to do with studying, the chat ends and the tutor rests for an hour.
  • There is a monthly allowance: 300 messages a month on a subscription, and 40 during the free trial. The page shows how much is left as you get near the end.
  • Conversations are saved to the account. The account holder can read them by signing in, and our staff may read them if there is a safety concern or to check the tutor is explaining things properly. The privacy policy says more.
  • It is not for emergencies or personal problems. If you are in danger or feel unsafe, tell an adult you trust or contact the emergency services.

9. Refunds and your rights as a consumer

If you are not happy, email us within 14 days of your first payment after the free trial and we will refund it in full and end the subscription. After that, we do not refund payments already taken, except where the law says we must.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law as a consumer where you live.

If you dispute a payment with your bank, access stops while the bank decides, and comes back if the dispute is decided in your favour. Please email us first: we can usually sort it out faster.

If a payment fails after you have paid us before, you keep access for 3 days while it is retried. If it still has not gone through, access stops until it does.

10. Using the site fairly

When you use the site, please do not:

  • share your login with another student, or with anyone else;
  • copy, download, print, sell, share or publish the notes, videos, questions or answers beyond your own study, or put them on another website or in a group chat;
  • use any program to copy the site's content, collect it in bulk, or use it to train an AI;
  • try to get into parts of the site you have not paid for, or get round anything that protects it;
  • try to make the AI tutor produce harmful, abusive or inappropriate content, or use it to bully or harm anyone;
  • do anything illegal, or anything that harms the site or other users.

11. Our content

The courses, notes, slides, videos, questions and everything else on the site belong to us or the people who made them for us, and are protected by copyright. A subscription lets the student use them for their own study while it lasts. It does not give anyone the right to copy them for others, sell them, or use them in a school or business.

12. What we can and cannot promise

We work hard to make every course accurate and true to its syllabus, but we cannot promise that it is free of mistakes, or that it will always match the newest version of a syllabus the day it changes. If you spot a mistake, please tell us.

We cannot promise any exam grade. How a student does depends on far more than our site.

We aim to keep the site running at all times, but it may sometimes be unavailable while we fix or improve it, or for reasons outside our control. We may change, improve or remove features and courses. If we remove something that is a main part of what you paid for, you can cancel and we will refund the unused part of the period you paid for.

13. Suspending or closing an account

You can close your account at any time from your account settings. If a card subscription is running, cancel it first and close the account once the paid time has run out.

We may suspend or close an account if it breaks these terms, for example by sharing a login, copying content for others, or misusing the AI tutor, or if we must by law. Where it is fair to, we will tell you first and give you the chance to put it right. If we close an account for breaking these terms, we will not refund the time left.

Unused accounts. An account not used for two years, with no subscription, is emailed a warning and deleted 30 days later if it is still unused.

14. Our responsibility to you

If we break these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that was a foreseeable result. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for loss caused by events outside our control.

Our total responsibility to you for anything connected with the site is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem arose.

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law does not allow it to be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

15. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms, for example when the site or the law changes. If a change matters, we will email account holders before it applies. If you do not agree to it, you can cancel before it takes effect.

16. The law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Sharjah, and disputes go to the courts of Sharjah. If you live elsewhere as a consumer, you keep the protection of the laws where you live, and you can bring a claim in your own courts.

Please contact us first if something goes wrong. Most problems are quicker to fix by email.
